Trending News: Love CrossFit? This Fitness Cruise Is Made For You
A lot of people love to rip on CrossFit for its cult-like nature and because of the injuries it may accrue. I am not one of those people. I really enjoy CrossFit, but that it’s it, nothing crazy. I also haven’t experienced or seen anyone get the dreaded rhabdo — a problem that can occur when you work your muscles too hard. That said, I have lost a friend to CrossFit and I know for people like him this cruise would be a dream come true.
Not Exactly A Relaxing Cruise
WOD on the Waves is a cruise dedicated to CrossFit athletes. The four-day trip from January 21 to January 25 will take off from Florida and hit Cococay as well as Nassau before looping back around. On board, you’ll get meat and veggies, so Paleo food, nightly events like a toga party and, of course, WODS (Workouts of the Day). Lots and lots of WODS. There will be over 100 classes during the trip.
Among the 3,300 people expected to sign up top CrossFit athletes like former ‘Fittest Man on Earth’ Rich Froning and Brooke Wells will be there. Froning and Wells are actually expected to teach some classes on the deck and there’ll also be other seminars about nutrition, intermittent fasting, keto and Paleo, as well as ones about lifting technique.
Into it? Tickets start at $575 for a shared cabin and go up to $5,000 for the most expensive suite. Find tickets on the website.
A Cruise For You (And You, And You)
It appears niche cruises are a hot ticket right now. The League dating app organized one for singles to meet other singles and I’m personally aware of Nomad Cruise, which is aimed at digital nomads. What’ll they think of next? A Disney cruise!? Oh, wait…
