GET online week’ which aims to show people how the internet can make their lives easier, takes place this week from 15th to 21st October.
Events will take place across all Warwickshire libraries and people are being encouraged to use the internet to find out something they want or need to be able to do.
The sessions will provide free and friendly support to help people take their first step towards being confident, capable and safe users of the internet.
The campaign is asking people to ‘Try 1 Thing’ on the internet. You might want to trace your family history, see what Facebook is all about, or even start to learn a language.
Or it might be as simple as renewing your library books or checking when the Christmas refuse collections are.
Data from the Office of National Statistics has shown 77 per cent of people aged 65 to 74 in the UK and 40 per cent of people aged 75 plus use the internet at least once a week.
