The Chicas for Charity polo event is back, and this time the chicos are invited to play.
And everyone gets the elegant VIP treatment at the Yucatán Polo Club starting with being photographed paparazzo-style during their red-carpet entrance. Attendees also get four drink tickets, a delicious bites-and-nibbles buffet and access to the Season for Sharing’s famous silent auction.
Of course, the main event is the three co-ed international polo matches.
Polo and fashion often intertwine, and the Chicas for Charity is no exception. Local fashion designer Martin Lopez will stage a runway show, and on the lighter side, the creative hat contest also returns.
Live music by David Bloom and the Children’s Symphony will also be offered.
A shuttle from Hennessy’s Irish Pub, one of the event’s sponsors, is also planned.
“The Season of Sharing and this event is our biggest event of the year.” said Kimberly Davin-DeGraff, the founder of Yucatan Giving Outreach A.C., a registered not-for-profit foundation supplying essential support for the community.
“The amount of planning and coordinating can feel overwhelming at times,” said Davin-DeGraff. “But when these three months leading up to the event seem too much to bear, we think of the beautiful Yucatán faces that we help all year long with the money we raise from this event. That keeps us going. That’s what this is really about.”
The polo event was founded in 2016 by Davin-Degraff and Fabienne O’Neill.
Tickets are 350 pesos at the early-bird rate before Nov. 1, and 500 pesos thereafter. 200 pesos for kids under 15, and children under 5 get in free. Buy tickets here.
Yucatán Expat Life is again proud to be the online media sponsor of the event.
