Our libraries offer a ton of online resources, and we’ve also got suggestions for how to keep your little ones busy in the backyard, or in your immediate neighbourhood.

Auckland Libraries online 

Auckland Libraries has plenty of online activities, learning, and entertainment which is available anytime, anywhere and is completely free. 

Keep your tamariki busy and learning for hours with thousands of eBooks to choose from, listening to an e-audio book and doing online puzzle challenges. 

There’s also a wide range of online resources for tamariki and rangatahi (youth) to help them to succeed with their schoolwork, with homework assistance for curly questions, topic guides, online training courses, tumblemath mathematics challenges and tools to develop timelines of world events.

AnyQuestions offers online help to assist New Zealand students with their homework or schooling. Between 10am and 6pm weekdays you can log on and chat with a real librarian about your enquiry.

APO for kids 

The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra has some fun and educational online activities for kids to be completed at home at a time that suits your family. 

Make & Do is a series of activity videos designed for pre-school to primary school-aged children. New videos are released every Monday morning at 10am.

Auckland War Memorial Museum 

While the doors of Auckland Museum are closed, you can still experience some of your favourite parts of Tāmaki Paenga Hira from home.
