KAYAK’s new travel hacker guide to lower airfares

By September 11, 2018 No Comments

Wondering how to score the best airfare deals or whether it’s better to fly round-trip or book two one-ways? KAYAK, the travel site, launched a new travel hacking guide this week whose Hacker Fares compare round-trip and one-way fares, and offer recommendations based on region, season and stopover possibilities.

Flying to Florence? The Italian city tops the site’s list of 10 international cities where booking onesies makes more financial sense than booking round-trip. Travelers to Florence can save 16 percent on their airfare. Other cities on that list include Frankurt, Germany, for 15 percent savings and Bangkok for 14 percent discounts.

If you’re a traveler who hasn’t settled on a destination yet — you just want to go somewhere that’s not here — the guide includes month-by-month comparisons of airfare rates between SFO and Lisbon, Lima and other cities. And speaking of Lisbon, the guide offers up a list of the 10 best stopovers, cities where you can get two vacations out of one trip, instead of just changing planes. Lisbon tops the list, with JetBlue and TAP both offering stopover deals on European travel that give you three days in Lisbon.
